BLURB: Feeling Etienne’s Love

He’s a bad bad boy...

Etienne Dubois is the son of a wealthy vineyard owner who craves the excitement of putting his life on the line. Working with the French government and as a confidant of King Charles X give him reasons for living. An encounter with a beautiful young woman in a plush bordello in Paris has him rethinking his roguish ways. Etienne never expects to become a father especially from one encounter with an innocent prostitute who whispers his name and has him rethinking his well-ordered life.

...But she can’t help feeling his love.

Elisa Moreau, the only daughter of Angelique Moreau, the owner of an exclusive bordello in Bordeaux, France, has loved Etienne Dubois since she was six. Unfortunately, until an unexpected encounter at a brothel in Paris puts the two of them in the same room, Etienne doesn’t even know she exists. Confused but wanting Etienne and this chance meeting to never end, Elisa gives herself to the man who has held her heart in hands for what seems like her entire life.

EXCERPT: Feeling Etienne’s Love

He met her halfway, taking her hand in his. Before bending over, he caught her gaze with his, “Enchante mademoiselle.”He kissed the back, felt the shiver pass from her into him, and knew he’d remember this night forever.

“Bonsoir,” she spoke softly, her words whisper thin as he sensed the potent surge of energy sweeping between them. He felt the soft flutter of air as she let out the breath she’d been holding. Then she looked upward, their gazes meeting his in a haze of powerful desire he could read clearly in her eyes.

            She wanted him.

He watched as she seemed to try to inhale a large dose of air, her bottom lip finding purchase beneath her small white teeth. He thought of tasting that full lip, putting his teeth where hers touched. Beside him her body trembled. “You have nothing to be afraid of, mademoiselle.” His voice was soft and throaty from the rapid rise of passion. “Come, we can talk first if you’d like. Don’t have to rush anything tonight.”

His hand was on her tiny waist, his thumb rubbing gentle circles. He was guiding her upward to her room, but he wasn’t sure where to go. She seemed to sense his hesitation then she looked at him with wide vividly unique blue eyes rimmed in violet. “Where are we going?” Then she paused again for what seemed an eternity as she looked around.

“To your room. You have been assigned a room, haven’t you? Or is it too soon?” He didn’t want to wait or go downstairs until something could be arranged.

“Oh!” She sounded surprised, her eyes widening with sudden comprehension. “My room, I thought. Second floor, first door on the right.”

“Good, now that was not so hard.” He felt a small chuckle rise from his belly as they turned down the hallway to stop at the first door. She is delightful. It swung open. He waited for her to walk inside before he closed and locked it behind them, leaving the key in the door. Clearly, she was nervous. He wanted her to relax.

She stood in front of him, her hands clasped tightly in front of her, wispy strands of nearly white, blond hair falling in soft very touchable curls around her face while the rest was piled intricately on top of her head. Her uniqueness stole his breath. Did she have any idea how beautiful she was?

            “What do we do now?”

She looked to the floor then back to him, her blue-violet eyes shimmering with some emotion he craved to discover. For a moment, her hand fluttered upward and toward him before she drew it back.

            “Take all our clothes off.”

He watched the expressions flit across her face then thought better of his statement. While that was his intention and hers to be sure before the night’s end, perhaps this was too soon. If she were the new girl, this would all be uncharted territory for her.

“Do we have too?” She looked up, startled wide eyes staring at him. “I mean...”

He kept his laughter behind his teeth. “Non, but it would be more fun as well as easier if we did.”

Now she looked down, plucking at her skirts and before he could say anything more, she touched his chest with her small hand. “If you say so.”

He placed his hand over hers, enjoying the pressure. Perhaps something else to speak of would be prudent at this time, “Do you have a name?” He spoke gently in a fervent attempt to ease the way for her.

            “Do you?”

She sounded defensive. He wasn’t too sure why. He only asked for a name.

Perhaps she wasn’t as nervous as he thought. He would have to proceed with caution before he could see just what was going to transpire next. He bowed low, “Etienne Dubois at your service.”

Turning her head away for a moment then looking at him and with a few blinks of her eyes, “Elisa.”

“A pretty name for a pretty lady. Do you have a last name?”

            “Just Elisa.”

Realizing she would give up only so much, he granted her the omission for now. In the scope of things her last name was hardly important. After tonight, he didn’t plan on seeing her again.

“Just Elisa, are you the new girl?” he asked, suddenly wondering just how new she was to all this.

If she was still a virgin, Madame Margaux would charge him double. He realized he didn’t care. All his previous notions coupled with his reservations about bedding a virgin vanished as he watched her small, pink tongue moisten her bottom lip. In that instant he was fully aroused.

She was shaking her head then, seeming to deny the fact but everything about her actions described a novice. “No, well, yes, I suppose I am new to all this. Don’t understand what is expected of me though. Never been with a...”

Once again, her moist tongue swept across her lips leaving them wet, enticing and very pink. She invited him to intimacy with such delicate gestures.

Hope Wallace, raised in a harem, now penniless, alone and without her memory, hopes bad boy Flynt MacTavish can help her rediscover all she has lost.

BLURB: Falling For Flint

He's a bad, bad boy...

Fascinated by Hope's loss of memory yet haunted by her sultry beauty, Flynt is irresistibly drawn to the stoic miss—and into her troubles with the sultan who wants her for himself. When he discovers she is the sister of his best friend, his pride keeps him from pursuing her and making her his.

...but she's falling for him.

Raised in a harem but now penniless, alone and without her memory, Hope must discover a way to remember all that she has lost. She finds a way to continue with her life as a servant in Flynt's home. The first sight of Flynt steals Hope's breath as well as her heart. Can she overcome her fears and give herself to the man she fell in love with.

EXCERPT: Falling For Flynt

“Perhaps you did,” he agreed, wondering just how he was going to keep himself from kissing her, tossing her on her bed, making love to her, in the process ruining her for Angus Kinross. With Hope in his arms, Flynt carried her to her bedroom.

Sitting on Hope’s bed and holding her so close, he felt one with the world. This feeling inside him was right, so what was he going to do about it?

She sighed softly, opening her eyes now. One soft fingertip stroked his jawline.             “Kiss me, Flynt.”

“Kiss you?” He chuckled, “You’re smashed.”

“No really, I want you to kiss me. Need to have something to compare.” Her tongue darted out to moisten her lips, her gaze resting on his mouth.

She must not realize how provocative that simple gesture was. When he stepped into his parlor a few hours ago, he had no idea the evening would end this way. He wasn’t going to turn down an invitation such as this one, even though she was half asleep and had clearly drunk too much.

“If you insist, I never turn down a lady,” he whispered so close to her lips he was sure she would feel his breath.

“I do,” she closed her eyes, waiting. “Insist.”

“Open your eyes, sweet lassie.” His lips found hers, touched, explored before his tongue delved inside, finding the soft inside of her upper lip then the edge of her teeth. She was sweet and hot. Her softness intrigued him as well as her willingness to allow him inside. Her tiny sounds of pleasure sent him over the edge. All he could think of was discovering more of her, all of her. That discovery would have to wait for another time.        He liked his women willing but also of clear mind when he pleased them with his sexual expertise. He wondered if Angus could claim that thought.

It seemed she relaxed in his arms. She was asleep, soundly asleep. She would never remember the kiss and would have naught for comparisons sake. He laughed at himself as well as his thoughts of making love to her. Even with her strange and erotic upbringing, she was by far too innocent for the likes of him.

            What to do now?

She wouldn’t sleep well, not if she went to bed wearing her clothes and her corset. He could undress her, perhaps without looking at her. No, don’t get too far ahead of yourself, old chap. No way in hell could he do that when presented with such a golden opportunity.

With Hope totally uncooperative, Flynt managed to remove her dress and corset, leaving her with only her chemise to cover her. He looked at her then, her soft feminine curves. Groaning, he pushed more carnal thoughts from his head.

He couldn’t help himself. He continued looking, dreaming about her as well. She was slim, her breasts perfect, seeming to invite him to taste. Nope. Walk away before you do something you’ll forever regret. Pulling the covers over her, she woke.

“Flynt?” The question in her voice stopped him as she sat up, her covering slipping to her waist.

“Yes.” He sat beside her, wishing he had permission to touch and explore, to curl up beside her.

“Stay with me tonight.” Her hands rested against his chest, imploring him to heed her request.

“You wouldn’t like it when you woke up,” he argued to no avail. “There would be regrets and recriminations on your part.

“I don’t like to be alone. You’re here with me now.” She closed her eyes for a second. “Please don’t go away. I’ve been so lonely. Sometimes I want to cry.”

Cry? So lonely? “You won’t like it in the morning,” he told her again, knowing he was too close to accepting her proposition.

“I don’t care.” Her voice was soft, her breathing shallow.

He could see the pulse point at her neck, which was beating rapidly.

Blessed hell, but she wanted him. It wouldn’t hurt he told himself. Her invitation was not the one he would have preferred right now. Nonetheless, how could he refuse? “Very well.”

He strode to the other side of the bed, ridding himself of his shirt and sitting on the bed to remove his boots. Prudence told him he should leave his buckskins on despite his preference to sleep naked.

She watched him, staring at him while he settled in next to her. Pulling a quilt from the end of the bed over him, he wrapped her in his arms. “Go to sleep now. I’m here and I won’t leave until morning.”

This was heaven and he was a saint for his gentlemanly behavior. In the morning he could give himself a pat on the back. In the morning, she would be shocked to find him in her bed. He could effectively get rid of Angus by regaling him about her and their escapades.

            He was a cad, yet...

The raging thought held too many beautiful possibilities.

The lost contingency from the dying planet, Plantas, has finally landed on Nalo. With the majority of their people sick with Time Warp Fever, the people are greeted with concern and care.

BLURB: My Uncle the King

When three contingencies took off from their dying planet, Plantas, only two arrived at their destination unharmed. When the lost contingency is hit with a meteor storm, only one ship survives and makes it to their destination of Nalo. Over the generations, the descendants of the original refugees become the ruling class of their adopted planet. Even the rebel group, the Pure Of Nalo, are unable to unseat the monarchy. When relations with Earth are established, it is Prince Nicos who leaves Nalo to find love on an alien planet and bring back new ideas as well as his Earthly family to save the throne and the people of Nalo.

EXCERPT: My Uncle the King

Although Grato’s passion had been farming, he was grateful to his parents for insisting he pursue a degree in engineering.

Nalo had been through a world war. The results of the war had left their city structures decimated. Added to that was the fact most of the farmland was destroyed, making it impossible to farm in the ways they had for many thousands of years. To stave off starvation, the farmers turned to hot-house farming. While there were several good farmers among their party, they spent their time learning the new advances the people of Nalo were putting to use.

As much as Grato wanted to be out working the land, his engineering degree was in greater demand. There were cities that needed to be rebuilt and a worldwide government to be established. Working with his father and the others, Grato oversaw the building of the cities. He also listened to all the news reports of the new government that was being put in place.

The countries who had democratic governments thought theirs was the best way, while the countries with monarchies argued for a king and queen to rule over the people. In the end a democracy was put in place.

~ * ~

After two years on Nalo, Grato had become an important member of the ruling party of the government. The president, who had been elected, did not seem to have the respect or confidence of all the people. There were many who were calling for a coup to put a king in place.

Even though he didn’t understand the need for a king, he decided if it made the people happy, why not? Besides, the only difference between a king and a president was the pomp that went along with the monarchy. Perhaps someday, the people looking for a king would be satisfied. In the meantime, a president had been elected. He could see no reason for change at this point, considering another election would be held within the next three years.

It was at an official ball when he saw Wasla across the room. He’d heard she’d been appointed to the Ministry of Medicine. Unfortunately, once he became involved in the government, he had no occasion to see her. If it was possible, she was more beautiful than she’d been on the ship during the journey from Plantas to Nalo.

“Wasla,” he said, after crossing the room to be by her side. “It’s good to see you. I hear there are congratulations in store. How do you like your new position with the Ministry of Medicine?”

“It’s been very interesting. I am amazed at how easily the people of Nalo accepted some of the medical breakthroughs we have made. We are also learning many new procedures. It’s an exciting time. Enough about me. I hear you are doing well in government as well.”

“Everything has turned out well. Considering the Time Warp Fever left me weakened, I am better suited for a desk job than for one of activity in rebuilding this world. I am stationed here in Capitol City, near the hub of all the activities of the government. If I’m not mistaken, you will be transferred here with your new position.”

Wasla batted her eyes seductively. “Are you suggesting we should be seeing each other socially?”

Grato wanted to chuckle, but suppressed the urge. “I had a little more than that in mind. I haven’t found anyone who piques my interest the way you have.”

“We are virtual strangers. We’ve both been living very different lives since we arrived on Nalo. I must admit I considered the fact you lived in Capitol City when I was approached about the position with the Ministry of Medicine. I’ve followed your rise in the government and prayed we would meet once I transferred here. I have observed the required mourning period for Paren and am ready to begin a life with someone of the opposite sex. To be truthful, I was hoping we could be a good match.”

Grato allowed a smile to cross his lips. He too had observed the allotted period of mourning for Tarena. She wasn’t coming back and he needed a woman in his life. What better life mate was there than Wasla? They’d been friends during the flight, as well as while she cared for him both before and after landing on Nalo.

Thus, began their courtship. As much as Grato once loved Tarena, he realized he’d found true love with Wasla. She was a very special woman and he knew they would complement each other not only as mates but also as life partners.

Two weeks later, with the blessing from both of their families, they were joined together for the rest of their natural lives. There were many parties to congratulate the young couple from both of their families as well as ones hosted by the women who were in the highest level of government.

After a honeymoon on the resort island of Permia, they returned to Capitol City and the new home they’d purchased together. With them both having important government jobs, their lives were complete.

Haunted by memories of an abusive childhood, Dawson vows to protect this child from a similar fate. Marly and Dawson's conflict over the best home for the baby changes to teamwork when crimes linked to the child hit small-town Halo. EXCERPT: Picture Perfect Legacy

Don't take my baby. Please don't take my baby. The woman's plea whispered in the steady swish, swish of the wipers. Her image wavered among the falling flakes of snow, horror streaking in anguished tears down her face.

Marly O'Shea shivered and forced her attention back to the narrow, twisting road grudgingly carved out of the side of the mountain.

The heater of her Jeep Wrangler valiantly battled the fingers of icy air creeping through the gaps in a canvas top that seemed to shrink each summer while it lay bundled in Marly’s garage. She much preferred the heated summer breezes that tangled her over-curly hair in wild abandon to the frigid winds laying icy sheets of moisture in the dips and shadows of the road she now traveled.

A gust of angry wind blasted around a curve, rattling the canvas top of the Jeep. The flurries of snow grew heavier, layering the road in a relentless white. Marly shifted into a lower gear and concentrated on what she could see of the road illuminated by her headlights.

Until she realized the headlights careening through the darkness weren't hers. They bore down on her, like a missile seeking its target.

Adrenaline spurted through Marly’s veins. She leaned on the horn and steered the Jeep as far to the side of the road as possible without sliding off the edge.

Brighter and brighter, the lights obliterated the darkness until Marly thought they would explode. Then, as suddenly as they appeared, the lights jerked away, bouncing down the road behind her and quickly disappearing.

The tires of the Jeep hit gravel, then slushy mud. Frantically down-shifting, Marly eased to a stop and sat frozen. Nothing dared intrude on the deafening silence of the night but the roar of a creek echoing in a canyon far below.

Another brilliant light flashed on, and Marly jerked her arm up to shield her eyes. A sharp rap on her door sent her grabbing for the purse that had slid onto the floor. Reaching inside, her fingers wrapped around the taser her overprotective brothers presented to her as a moving-away-from-home gift.

Cradling the weapon on her lap, Marly turned to confront the man standing beside her Jeep. A halo of light silhouetted the man’s bushy hair and beard, but his features remained obscured in shadows.

“Are you hurt?” His voice flowed like melted honey, its comforting tones at odds with his unkempt appearance.

Slowly, Marly shook her head. "No."

“We need to get you off this curve before another car comes through. I’m going to hook my winch to your vehicle and pull you back onto the road.”

He disappeared into the curtain of light, leaving Marly with only the impression of broad shoulders encased in black leather.

Her heart raced. It was the near accident, she told herself.

Soon, metal clunked against metal as the man hooked a cable to the underside of her vehicle. After a moment’s token resistance, the Jeep moved back onto the solid surface of the road.

A sigh of relief flowed through Marly’s body, brought up short by the sudden reappearance of the man beside her vehicle. Many times her brothers scolded her for being too trusting. Narrow hips and long legs snugly encased in worn blue jeans could belong to a serial killer as easily as a white knight.

“Step out while I check your vehicle for damage.” A jagged scar over the man’s right eyebrow gleamed as he reached for her door handle.

Every murder mystery she read as a teenager gave the bad guy a scar. She wasn’t taking any chances. Adrenaline pumped through Marly’s body once again as she leveled the taser at the man’s chest. “Stop right there.”

Irritation briefly crinkled the man's brow. “The undercarriage of your vehicle might be damaged.”

“Step away from the vehicle.” Marly juggled the taser in one hand while using the other to crank the key in the ignition. The Jeep sputtered to life, rocketing relief through Marly’s veins. The man quick-stepped backward as she shoved the vehicle into gear and stomped on the gas, leaving her mystery rescuer--or would-be attacker--standing with the snow falling on the dark velvet of his tousled hair.
