INTERVIEW:

1.What or who inspired you to start writing? Fairytales I guess. I was a latecomer though, I really only started writing seriously at age 27. Though I always wrote poetry for myself and kept diaries. Finally I put myself together and realized I could make a good writer.

2.How did you come up with ideas for your books? I always loved werewolves but I wanted to take it to another level after I saw twilight it solidified something in my mind that hadn’t connected before, it was what I liked. It wasn’t straight fantasy it was grittier. It was then I realized that I loved paranormal and that’s what I wanted to do.

3.What components are necessary for the genre of this novel? Realism and then that layer of fantasy, that if taken away leaves mundane life. That’s what paranormal is.

4.What expertise did you bring to your writing? Life. Hard work, pain, love and more hard work. I brought empathy and heartbreak. Every book I ever read and anything that has hurt and inspired me.

5.As far as your writing goes, what are your future plans? WS3 Night Fall and WS4 and 5 and 6. All the characters develop, some die and some are reunited. Don’t worry I aim for a HEA ending. I do favour realism but don’t let that scare you.

6.If you could be one of the characters from any of your books, who would it be and why? I would be Lila she is me in many ways. I have written what I know. Maybe it would be cool to be Sam because she is the Alpha and she pulls a lot of strings, but ultimately she is an angry, lonely person and she covers it with a facade.  So I wouldn’t want to be her.

7.Do you belong to a critique group? If so how does this help or hinder your writing? No I have a critique partner though. She hacks apart my sentences, sometimes it’s a little hard to take but ultimately I want her to be ruthless because my work needs to be the best it can be. Before it is thrown to the real wolves, critics. Most of the time we laugh though.

8.Do you outline your books or just start writing? I just start writing I have a general idea and feel in my head and I just get in the zone and go. Editing later over and over is the torturous part.

9.Do you have any hobbies and does the knowledge you've gained from these carry over into your characters or the plot of your books? I study western herbal medicine and for the character of Tisane this came in very handy. I use anything and everything at my disposal. I love to watch Documentaries about real people for inspiration.
10.         Do you have an all time favorite book? Maybe Wuthering Heights, it’s very romantic and melodramatic and dark.

11.         Have you started your next project? If so, can you share a little bit about your book? WS3 Night Fall, is dark and develops certain characters, Tisanes dirty secret comes out and Cres gets into a bit of a situation in more ways than one.  Be prepared for big surpises and a dystopian feel to WS4.

12.         What is your favorite reality show? The voice and So You Think You Can Dance, I want my werewolves to be like dancers. Strong, fit, muscular, acrobatic and passionate.

13.         Can you tell us a little about the black moment in your book? A dark moment is when Lila is kidnapped, I like a little mystery, whcih is why I label the book suspense as well. I hate it when people review it and say there was no mystery about whether they were werewolves and I think, hmmm, the book is called wolf sirens and has a wolf on the cover and there is no secret made of how supernaturally beautiful the pack are, the mystery and suspense is everything else. The wolves are red herrings really. When Lila goes to the Cabin and confronts Sam is pretty pivotal it’s the climax of the book I love that Cres and Sky are there for her. I like it a lot that Sam gets derailed. Read it and see.

BLURB:

Eternally Cursed to Love & Not Purely Desire…

Temperatures rise as the flames of longing still burn in the thrilling sequel to Wolf Sirens Forbidden. The legend continues. Apollo, god of deadly plague, conspires to undo his sister’s legacy. The wolves exist between two worlds, one in the town another in the forest.

Prophecy says hunters and wolves are cursed to a mutual attraction. Increasingly, each successive slayer becomes more alluring to the wolf. The predestined enemies struggle, to both resist and contain their fierce rival in a conflict powerful enough to tear two worlds apart.

A shadow has fallen over the heart lands of myth and reality. The chosen is reborn broken-hearted, in the scorching embers of grief. Devastated, Lila trains tirelessly as the assassin. She must submit to deliver justice and protect the innocent of Shade.

But is it love or revenge which motivates her?

Will the huntress or her heart prevail? Breaking away from the call of destiny and fearing betrayal, Lila makes a desperate escape in search of her lost beloved. The intensity between two ancient enemies ignites. The history of the wolf pack is revealed as devotion and desire in the underworld reaches fever pitch.

If The Bite Doesn't Get You, Then the Fever Will

EXCERPT:

Without realizing it, I did fill a void for Cres and so in my own way I soothed the open wounds she carried. She didn’t care to risk losing me as well and in her grew a small bud of anger towards me. I was living her life. I was made to replace her – and worse, or so she thought, I was living with my mother and being indifferent towards her affections, while her family had been destroyed.

I don’t think Cresida liked my mother, but she needed her companionship as much as she needed mine. Without each other’s company I think we all would have suffered more. Me, because I would have become a lone wandering hunter, intent on finding my lover’s dead remains and killing the other pack, no doubt to my own peril, and my mother because I would have left without a word. In the end no one would have been able to stop me from this, and in fact I think Cresida would have joined me soon enough and supplied the ammo, hoping herself never to return. I was a means to her death, creeping closer, but I had no sympathy for any fear she may have suffered. I was a double agent.

Life at Cresida’s was hostile. She frequently joined our table to escape her religious Aunt Tabetha. Cres was buoyed by the fact that my mother was an atheist. She often spent the night on my bedroom floor with my mother’s blessing, reading heathenish magazines, which were banned in Tabetha’s home. Soph was good at ignoring – anything, even the church, even Tabetha Horrel; it was a skill she had acquired raising me, I was sure.
