TRINITY BOUND
by Carrie Ann Ryan

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
Hannah Lewis, a rare earth witch, is taken from the only life she’s ever known. Held against her will by a sadistic wolf, she almost gives up hope that she’d ever see her real life again. But as her fellow captive, a werewolf named Reed, tries to calm her fears, she begins to feel a spark of something she never thought she’d feel – love. But is Reed, alone, enough to get her out of this dark basement so she can move on with her life?
Reed Jamenson, the artist of a werewolf Pack of Alpha males, knows instinctually that Hannah is his mate. Thus, despite their imprisonment, he will do all to protect her and then worry about their hearts. But is he strong enough to find a way for both of them to escape? And why does he feel as though something else is missing?
Josh Kolb, an ex-military human, stumbles upon Reed and Hannah and finds he must trust this new world of supernatural beings to survive. But that desire will lead the three to a triangle of attraction that will test the boundaries they all possess and its consequences in defeating the enemy. Can they all trust one another to save themselves and life as they know it? Even at the cost of their own hearts?
EXCERPTS
Reed planted his feet, his fists clenched. Josh did the same on the other side of her, yet with a gun in one hand and a blade in another. As a human, he would need all the protection he could get. A gun wouldn’t necessarily kill the beasts, but it would slow them down. And frankly, he looked damn sexy all armored up. Reed too, with his natural charisma.
And, totally not the time again to let her thoughts wonder.
But what a place they would go.
Hannah gave a nod to both men and closed her eyes, calling to the Earth. She may be a Healer, but she could still go on the offensive with the Earth and kick ass if she had too. Well, at least she hoped he could. She’d trained with her mother – Hannah held back that sharp pain of loss – but she really hadn’t used it, and tiredness ached her bones.
Another wolf’s howl echoed in the not too far distance. Hannah concentrated and moved her arms like an orchestra conductor to take a large pile of soil, rocks and roots in her hold. The resulting mass looked like a crested wave and slammed into the wolves trying to come from behind in a sneak attack.
Stupid wolves. Didn’t they know she could feel them when they trampled heavy-footed on her Earth?
Josh and Reed each granted her a look of pleasant surprise, then a sexy smile.
They’d underestimated her. They wouldn’t do it again.
Interview: Learn More about Carrie Ann Ryan
1. What or who inspired you to start writing?
     First, thanks so much for having me here today! I started writing because I read so much romance that I couldn’t stop the ideas that came to my head. Rebecca Royce was the one who encouraged me to go for it, and I’m happy she did.
2. How did you come up with ideas for your books?
I think I’m mostly a character author. Meaning I think about the characters I have and how they’ll mesh. The conflict and the plot usually come from that.
In terms of Trinity Bound, it came from the idea that I wanted to write a ménage.
Reed came to me while writing An Alpha’s Path. His character didn’t develop in my head until A Taste for a Mate when he sat in his studio with Willow and talked about mates. When he said he was fine with either a man or a woman…or both, that surprised me as well as readers. But I’m so glad it came to me.
Hannah came about because I felt that I needed a witch and though she started off slightly soft, she grew.
Josh on the other hand surprised the hell out of me. I thought I wanted a hard-ass military human. He taught me to let my characters do what they want, because frankly, they know better than me LOL.
3. What components make up a paranormal erotic romance?
I think sexiness, conflict, connections, mystery, emotions, and of course, hot guys, make up a paranormal erotic romance.
4. What would you want your readers to know about you that might not be in your bio?
I’m a chemist by day and a writer by night. Oh and I have gold-ish colored eyes after an accident LOL.
I think one of my characters will have them one day LOL. In fact, I know it.
5. As far as your writing goes, what are your future plans?
Oh I have so many! The Redwood Pack series is a 7 book series. Trinity Bound is the third in the series. At the moment, I’m writing the 4th, Enforcer’s Redemption, Adam’s story.
But I’m also writing another 7 book series, Dante’s Circle. The first book, Dust of My Wings, will be out this summer. It’s a new series that is set in a different world from the Redwoods and has about every paranormal creature you can think of.
I’m also working on a dual-author super sekrit project that we’ll announce in May.
6. If you could be one of the characters from any of your books, who would it be and why?
Oooohhhh. Well, since we’re talking about Trinity Bound, I’ll go with Hannah. She’s a witch who’s soft and curvy on the outside but can kick ass like no other.
I love her.
7. Do you belong to a critique group? If so how does this help or hinder your writing?
Yep. I belong to a FAB online group. I’m learning so much and they are so supportive. Plus, they’re honest. If I need tweak something, they tell me.
8. When did you first decide to submit your work? Please tell us what or who encouraged you to take this big step?
Last July I was talking to Rebecca Royce and she told me to go for it. I’m glad she did.
9. What is the best and worst advice you ever received? (regarding writing or publishing)
Best: Keep writing. Every day, write something.
Worse: Ignore other people’s advice.
10. Do you outline your books or just start writing?
LOL. As I once said, I have outlines of my outlines and spreadsheets of my spreadsheets.
I need to know where I’m going. I write series books so I don’t want to miss anything.
But if I need to change something, I will. They aren’t set in stone.
11. Do you have any hobbies and does the knowledge you've gained from these carry over into your characters or the plot of your books?
I love cooking so I usually have something about in there. But most of the hobbies I have my characters do are something that I wanted to do or something new to me. It’s nice to research something new and maybe try it out later.
12. Do you have an all-time favorite book?
I’ve read over 5,000…so no LOL. I can’t decide! I will say that I’ve read the Alpha & Omega series by Patricia Briggs about 50 times. I sobbed a bit when she said she might not write any more.
13. Have you started your next project? If so, can you share a little bit about your book?
I’m writing two books right now. Enforcer’s Redemption is Adam’s book and is the toughest I’ve ever written. So much in fact that I had to write another book at the same time so I can step away from it.
For those of you who know Adam, you know he’s been through so much. And it doesn’t get better for a while.
I’m also writing Dust of My Wings. This is Shade, an angel, and Lily’s story. Each book in the Dante’s Circle series, of the seven, will be about one of the seven women you’ll meet in the first book and the mate(s) they find.
Something happens in the first book that changes the dynamics of the world they thought they knew and brings about a new conflict that I’m having fun with.
14. What is your favorite reality show?
I’m a dork and don’t like reality shows. But I like the educational ones.
15. Who is your favorite actor and actress?
Right now, Henry Cavil and Kate Winslet. It will probably change in a week.
16. Can you tell us a little about the black moment in your book?
There are a few black moments. Reed and Hannah have a few that I was so happy they had each other for.
Josh didn’t get that option. I surprised myself with what happened with that moment. But I will say, it made everyone stronger for it.
Thanks Christine
Good morning!! I have learned lots from this amazing interview. Q: I noticed that you mentioned be a character author. Do you have a visual of your characters before you begin or do you find some visual/actor/model to help your characters come true for the reader?
It sounds as though your heroine is a very strong woman. I am really glad. I don't really like stories about weak, whining, women.
I am anxious to read more of your books.
