The power of the sword or the power of the pen or even perhaps the power of mother nature, which is stronger? I have always loved pirate books. My first romance and the one that started my career in writing was Pirates Pleasure by Heather Graham. There is something so seemingly romantic about a good gentlemanly alpha pirate. Does that person really exist? Perhaps only in our wildest fantasies.
So what about a female pirate? Is this theme romantic? Maybe if she battles her male counterpart for dominance. But does she have to win? Probably not. Can they call it a draw. Most definitely. The alpha male I envision would want a strong woman as a soul mate. No cowering damsel in distress for my pirate fantasy.
